Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful, nasty waysEmilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10415214502891704606noreply@blogger.comBlogger2125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404733077715733039.post-15966070825074377422011-08-11T21:40:57.536-05:002011-08-11T21:40:57.536-05:00I have read all the rest, and I like the last one ...I have read all the rest, and I like the last one the best!

I guess each person has their own opinion! Personally, I didn't find Harry annoying (hot headed yes.)

I started this series in grade 7, so the depth was great then, but I guess, looking back, that the depth is a little "2D". It isn't as shallow as some books that I have read though!

Thanks for commenting!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10415214502891704606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404733077715733039.post-7656400073568159352011-08-11T21:36:57.503-05:002011-08-11T21:36:57.503-05:00I absolutely adore the Percy Jackson and the Olymp...I absolutely adore the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and I just finished the last one a couple days ago. Have you read the rest?

I didn't think Percy was annoying; I actually liked him a lot and I was glad that he didn't get on my nerves. :) I mean, even Harry Potter was a bit annoying with his temper sometimes, but I still love him anyway.

The one thing that I didn't like about the series was the depth. There wasn't much meaning or any themes to the series, it was just a bit 2D, I guess. With other series like Harry Potter or The Hunger Games, there's still depth in the midst of all the action, while the PJ series was a bit flat. I think the series could have been taken to the next level if Rick Riordan had made them a bit deeper (without being forceful or preachy or anything). Some people think that middle-grade novels don't have to be deep, as if the target audience doesn't care enough/isn't smart enough, but I disagree. I've read MG novels with depth and I think it's worth it.Brittanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08115091011126786039noreply@blogger.com
